A.H.A. Derijck, PhD studied biology and biotechnology at Wageningen University before obtaining his PhD from Radboud UMC’s Obstetrics and Gynaecology department in Nijmegen, where he researched the role of oocyte factors in the repair of DNA-damaged sperm cells following fertilisation from 2002 to 2007. Between 2007 and 2011 he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Utrecht UMC, investigating the role of nerve growth factors in the formation of nerve pathways. From 2011 to 2012 he worked at the Drug Discovery Factory in the capacity of a consultant for financing of innovation projects and spin-offs in the Dutch biotechnology and life sciences industry. Since July 2012 until April 2016 he has been training to become a clinical embryologist at Utrecht UMC’s Reproduction and Gynaecology department. Since April 2016 he works as a clinical embryologist with a focus on PGD at Amsterdam UMC.
