Curriculum vitae

Prof. F.J.M. Broekmans studied medicine at Amsterdam VU University. He received his doctorate in 1995, having been supervised by Professor J. Schoemaker in Amsterdam and having written a dissertation entitled Dose Studies with the GnRH Agonist Triptorelin. Between 1991 and 1993 he completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) at VU University Medical Centre in Amsterdam, where, under the supervision of Dr M.E. Boer Meisel, he trained in reproductive microsurgery. Since 1995 he has worked at Utrecht UMC’s Reproductive Medicine department. Between 1998 and 2002 he served as the head of the outpatient ward, and since 2007 he has been the coordinator for Reproductive and Conservative Surgery. From 2006 to 2009 he was an associate editor of Human Reproduction. Professor Broekmans currently serves as a reviewer for the scientific journals Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation, Fertility and Sterility, Human Reproduction and the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. He has been the chairman of the Flemish-Dutch Society for Fertility Studies since 2006, and chairman of the research consortium of the Dutch Society for Reproductive Medicine since 2009. He was appointed Professor of Reproductive Medicine at Utrecht University Medical Centre in October 2010.
