A.L. Bredenoord, PhD is an associate professor of Medical Ethics with Utrecht UMC’s Julius Centre. She received her PhD from Maastricht University in 2010, having written a dissertation on ethical issues at the interface of reproductive medicine and genetics. She is a lecturer in ethics at Utrecht University’s Faculty of Medicine. In addition, she is a member of several committees, including KNAW’s Young Academy, the Young Health Council, the National PGD Indications Committee, and Utrecht UMC’s Medical Ethics Review Board (METC) and Standing Committee on Reproductive Medicine.
Her main research interest is the ethics of medical and scientific research (research ethics), with a particular focus on genomics, biobanks, reproductive technology and stem cell research.
